WhereStart: Signal Hill car park. On arrival, you will see the paragliding launch site and paragliders. NB. There are multiple tandem businesses. Please ask for Ria Moothilal who will assist you further.
End: Flights from Signal Hill terminate at the Winchester Mansions Hotel on the Sea Point Promenade. If we fly from Lions Head we land right in front of the Bungalow restaurant in Clifton.
Flights by default will take place from Signal Hill however if the conditions make Lions Head more favourable for flying then we will go there - this will be communicated to you
WeatherParagliding is a weather-dependent activity. High-speed winds, poor visibility, rain and low clouds, are just some of the reasons that can delay, or even cancel our operations. In case of bad weather, our team will announce a “standby”, which means we have to put our operations on hold. Regular announcements will be made updating you on the conditions while you wait at our locations. If the weather shows no signs of improving and we have to cancel operations and you cannot reschedule for the next available date, you will receive a full refund. We are not liable for any costs (travel, stay, etc.) incurred by the individual in the instances mentioned above. If you are a visitor, we recommend that you join us at the beginning of your travels so that we have the option to reschedule your flight if the weather doesn’t play along.
What to WearComfortable closed running shoes, sunglasses and a hat. A jacket is a good idea on cold or cloudy days
Things to BringA facemask as per standard Covid 19 protocol. Proof of purchase (email copy on your mobile phone is sufficient). Drinks and/or snacks (no alcohol to be consumed prior to flight). Make the most out of your time on the mountain.
Guests or Spectators* Customers under the influence of drugs or alcohol will not be allowed to on this course.
* Guests or Spectators are more than welcome to come with on the day of the flight. We recommend that they bring comfortable running shoes because the chances are pretty high that they end up Paragliding as well. Guests can either can watch from the takeoff area
