What is an E-bike
E-Bikes make this anybody’s adventure as you can go further and explore more! E-Bikes are bicycles integrated with a motor and a battery that assists the cyclist and allows them to cycle further with less effort.
The Route
The route is non technical with the half of the route a dedicated bicycle lane and half of the route jeep tracks. The hike to the waterfall is also non technical.
Tour Description
We meet at Lanzerac Wine Estate where your Adventure starts. At the Trail Centre your guide will introduce you to your E-bike and issue you with your safety equipment.
You will cycle on a dedicated bicycle lane toward Jonkershoek Reserve and the view of the mountains becomes more spectacular as you do deeper into the valley. Once through the Jonkershoek gate we follow the Eerste River and you will enjoy a 360 degree view of majestic mountains.
Reaching the deepest part of the valley that allows bicycles we will start a 3.5 km hike to the first waterfall which is a great reward to reach.

What an amazing experience! Louise was a fantastic guide, the little welcome name on the blackboard was a really nice touch. My sister and I thoroughly enjoyed this adventure. The only downside was my tyre punctured towards the end of the ride so we had to get a ride back to the farm and therefore couldn't finish the ride. All in all, a wonderful experience! This was by far one of the best experiences we ever had. the welcome was perfect and our guide extremly knowledgeable and fun to spend the day with. the equipment could not have been better (i will definitely buy an ebike now) and the scenery just stunning. it was a moderate hike in beautiful nature and the waterfall part AMAZING. i don't want to give too much away since it is kind of surprising to see that rainforest like surroundings, be prepared for a small aventure. we had so much fun and made wondeful memories! hope to see you again next year on our holiday in franschhoek. - Bettina
