South Africa is a wonderful country for bird watching, being home to 8% of the world’s bird species. Over 610 bird species and 60 of our 86 endemic birds have been registered in Cape Town. Birds such as Cape Sugarbird, Orange-breasted Sunbird, Victorin’s Warbler, Protea canary, Black Harrier, and Forest Canary are found nowhere else.
Going Slowly is not about a mode of transport. It is a way to spend valuable time well and to taste, smell, explore and listen. During this tour, we will visit two to three special bird-watching destinations in Nature reserves and botanical gardens at a relaxed pace, with time to time to stop and enjoy each place.”
Your guide and host Jim, guides history, culture, nature, and wine in English and Swedish. He is Cape Town born and has lived most of his life here. He knows all sorts of special places. His love for South Africa motivated him to qualify as a tourist guide and today he is doing what he loves most, sharing his passion for his country and its people. You can ask him what you like.
