Activity Description

Join me for a private tour spotting birds in some of Cape Town’s stunning gardens
Theme: Birds and Gardens of Cape Town. Culture, History and Nature.
South Africa is a fantastic country for bird watching and is home to 8% of the world’s bird species. More than 610 species of birds have been recorded in Cape Town. Sixty of South Africa’s 86 endemic birds are found here in the Western Cape Province.
Due to our diverse range of unique vegetation, some birds such as the Cape Sugarbird, the Orange-breasted Sunbird, Victorin’s Warbler, Protea Seedeater, Black Harrier, and the Forest Canary can be found only in the Western Cape province. Another bird to look out for is South Africa’s national bird, the beautiful Blue Crane which is our national bird and an endangered species.
During this tour we will visit a special bird watching destination such as Rondevlei or Intaka as well as the spectacular garden, Kirstenbosch.
We explore the Cape at a relaxed pace, with time to pause and enjoy each place. We call it “Going Slowly”. Its not about transport but about savouring the journey and to taste, smell, explore, and listen.
Your Guide and host, Jim, a Cape Town native, guides in English and Swedish. Passionate about South Africa’s culture, nature, and history. He brings each story to life with local insights and hidden gems.
“I do what I love most, sharing the beauty and stories of my country with curious travellers.
