Each of our food tours focuses on local favourite food’s and local experiences in the heart of the Mother City.
On this 4 hour walking tour, we will
go from Bo-Kaap (Cape Malay) to traditional South African foods to
traditional African food and drink
tastings, to ensure by the end of this
tour you truly feel welcomed in the Mother City.
We start our tour at Atlas spice the oldest spice store in Cape Town and get to see the importance of spice in Cape Town history and to South African cuisine today.
Then onto a taste of the Bo-Kaap at a local residents home for some traditional Cape Malay treats.

to bar theory with a taste of some of
Cape Town’s well known “Don’t be

a chocolate tasting
Visit Mama Africa for an authentic African experience where we will try out South Africa’s national dish the bobotie
Visit to the company gardens for a traditional tea, in the nantural surroundings of the gardens.
Taste the traditional boerewors on a South African braai
Visit the Greenmarket Square the orginal fruit and vegtable market in the heart of the city of Cape Town and the Adderley Street flower market as we make our way to another South African favourite
Traditional biltong and droewors a definate South African must have on any visit to Cape Town
Next a visit to the vibrant Bo-Kaap community and a visit to the oldest spice store in Cape Town, Atlas Spice, and find out along the way the vital role that food had to play, in the early establishment of Cape Town along the spice route, and a enjoyable walk around the community learning about the history, culture we will have a stop at a local residents home.
As we take you from the very heartbeat of Bo-Kaap and look beyond the colourful homes found in the community, with local Cape Malay platter and a local food tasting and tea at Faeez’s home kitchen, including a local koesisters which are traditional Sunday morning treats in Cape Town,
To ensure you have the most amazing experience, we will visit Marco’s African Place which is another great Cape Town restaurant, captivating the hearts and palates of both locals and globetrotters alike. Our journey at Marco’s will be an adventure in Pan-African flavors, while we explore the game meats of South Africa, through their Pan-African platter featuring Springbok, Kudu, and Ostrich and ending with a popular African beer.
