Activity Description

Experience the thrill of viewing the Big 5 wildlife on a half-day safari at Schotia Safaris, the oldest private game reserve in the Eastern Cape of South Africa. Located on the eastern border of Addo Elephant National Park, this malaria-free reserve is known for its dense animal populations and excellent game viewing year-round.

Begin with a short 45-minute drive to Schotia, where you will explore the reserve in an open 4×4 safari vehicle, guided by an experienced local guide. In the morning, venture into the wilderness to search for the Big 5—Elephant, Buffalo, Rhino, Lion, and Leopard—among a diverse array of other species. Schotia was the first reserve in the Cape Province to have free-roaming lions, so sightings are almost guaranteed on every game drive.

Beyond the Big 5, keep your eyes peeled for Hippos, Crocodiles, numerous antelope species, and a variety of other wildlife that make this reserve a true paradise for nature lovers. This half-day safari offers a powerful and immersive wildlife experience in one of South Africa’s most renowned private reserves.
