The Whale Experience:

An exhilarating two hour voyage to discover Walker bay’s wonderful wildlife, stunning coastline and famous whales. Depending on conditions and recent sightings, you could find yourself exploring the coast towards De Plaat or the sandy beaches of Hawston, in search of the stars of the whale watching trip – Southern Right Whales. On the way to our whale watching area we regularly encounter two different whale species inhabiting these waters, Humpback and Bryde’s whales. Each trip is different, which makes the experience even more exciting! ! When we set out from the harbour we never know exactly what kind of whales wait for us out at sea on that particular day.

Return to Land:

You can enjoy the boat ride and magnificent landscapes while summing up the experiences of the trip with our friendly guides.
Because we are dealing with wild animals, it might happen, especially nearing the end of the season, that there might be less sightings.

Customer Reviews

We booked a whale watching trip on the last week of November, unfortunately due to bad weather we got moved a day but the change was well communicated and we could have cancelled. We drove down to Hermanus for the 11am trip. We were told that the 9am trip hadn't sighted any whales and were given the opportunity to get a refund but we are glad we didn't. We saw hundreds of dolphins, seals an eventually a whale & her calf. The crew were very informative After the trip we went into Hermanus town for lunch. Its a beautiful place and we will certainly come back again but earlier in the season - Pamela

Excellent trip seeing several whales and their calves. Great briefing and boat. - Nigel

Excellent trip, team and guide who explained everything so well - Patrick

Whale watching was an incredible experience. We have whale watched in Alaska, Washington, San Diego and Maine. This was superior to them all. The boat is comfortable, the staff professional and knowledgeable. We hung close to a mother and child Southern Right Whale and then moved to another grouping at a greater distance. The wind was substantial but the captain kept the boat in excellent position. I got some great pictures, which rarely happens whale watching. We had a marvelous experience on a very blustery day. - Jeff

Perfect weather, perfect guide, perfect concerns for safety. We loved it a lot! - Caroline
